Amanda Jackson?s figurative approach and subtle treatment of the human form are derived from the 6 years spent as a portrait artist-in-residence with a commercial gallery. As demand for her work increased, Amanda?s decision to work full time as an independent artist was a natural one and her commitment to the understanding and use of the language of art is absolute.
The attention to flesh tones and the momentary quality of the pose are key; the use of form, colour and composition to describe emotion and suggest narrative combine to give the viewer a sense of intrigue. Amanda aims to produce work which yields new information at every glance.
