Gladys MacCabe
Gladys MacCabe, was born in Randalstown, Co. Antrim. Like many ladies, she is disinclined to reveal the exact date; suffice to say she was born between the wars! It is little wonder that someone with such a tremendous talent for the arts was born into a family with great artistic tradition. Her mother, Elizabeth, was also born in Randalstown where her family was in the linen business. She was a designer by profession, producing many of the patterns used in the manufacture of the fabric. She also painted in oils – mostly landscapes.
