Artists Biography
Owen Rohu
Owen Rohu was born in Dublin, Ireland in 1966. He studied Visual Communications, majoring in Illustration, in the College of Marketing and Design in Dublin and later at the prestigious Scottsdale Art School, Arizona, USA. Initially, Owen pursued a career in the animation industry, working as a background artist for animation greats such as Walt Disney, 20th Century Fox and Don Bluth Studios. However, during his professional career in animation, Owen continued to pursue his talent for painting.
Owen is primarily interested in capturing light and mood. His use of a limited palette brings a harmonious quality to his work. He returned to settle in Ireland in 2002 and lives in the West of Ireland. His paintings are held in private collections in the U.S.A., Australia and Ireland.
