Artists Biography
Jacinta Crowley - Long
This Wicklow based professional artist has a deserved reputation as one of the Irelands foremost contemporary canine and equestrian artists. She has been selected in recent years to exhibit at the prestigious International Exhibition Of Equestrian Art at both Christies and the Mall Gallery, London. This exhibition is staged annually to showcase the work of the best of British and International equestrian artistes. The empathy she has for animals is evident in many of her paintings.
She graduated with a PhD in Botany from University College , Cork where she lectured for ten years before relocating to an 18th century rectory on Carlow/Wicklow border, where she lives surrounded by her animals. Her paintings are in many corporate and private collections in Ireland, America and Europe, including the OPW, DE Beers, SA, ETP and BP International.
In 2004 she has been invited to exhibit at the American Academy of Equine Art and the Salon International de Saumur, France. Closer to home she has recently had a successful show of equine paintings in the Irish National Stud and is also currently exhibiting in Newmarket, England.
